Player’s Code of Conduct

As a Club we strive to set a standard of behaviours that will benefit our teams and individuals within them. The Monash University Water Polo Club expects that all persons associated within our Club abide by the Code of Conduct detailed below:

  • Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of their gender, ability, cultural background or religion
  • Treat all players as you like to be treated – do not bully or take unfair advantage of another player
  • Respect the referees and officials – never argue with a referee or umpire. If you disagree with a decision, ask your coach to approach the official AFTER the game
  • Do not lose your temper – control it. Verbal abuse of officials, sledging of other players, deliberately distracting or provoking an opponent, are unacceptable behaviours

  • Play by the rules
  • Demonstrate and practice sportsman-like actions
  • Train and play to the best of your ability, to benefit both yourself and your team

  • Work together as a team and focus on performing team plays

And most importantly – participate for your own enjoyment and benefit, not just to please your parents and coaches.
